Waka Ama is very popular at Auckland Girls Grammar.
The sport’s strengths and attraction for many of its participants is its inclusiveness, accessibility, a firm grounding in Māori and Pacific culture and its focus on hauora (wellbeing).
Each year AGGS enters into the Senior and Junior Regattas. There is a Senior Regatta that takes place in Term 1 and the Junior Regatta takes place in Term 4.

- Trainings – school pool and Okahu Bay but to be confirmed closer to the time
- Costs to be confirmed once registrations are received
- Transport to Okahu Bay either by school van and taxi. Students are to arrange their own transport home from trainings
- Parents will be required to transport students to the regatta on Saturday 2 November
- Waka Ama is a great way to stay connected, make new friends, learn a new skill and make lasting memories in school sport.
